Arapahoe Basin
1) Why they need DEI
Arapahoe Basin was seeing a decrease in J1 seasonal hiring. They needed a more inclusive team to recruit from the increasing Latiné population in the area, and they also wanted to retain an increasingly diverse young population.
3) Our Solution
We are educating men on how to support women in the workplace. We need to create a recommended policy list and are creating a development program to have predictable upward movement in the company.
2) Key Findings
Women weren’t psychologically safe working at Arapahoe Basin and men rated even lower. There was a slowly increasing LGBTQ+ and multiracial community.
4) Our Plan
Currently, we are focusing on improving the women’s affinity group. Adjacently, we are improving psychological safety of men who might feel left out. We’re focusing on a larger demographic before moving to the slowly increasing Latiné and LGBTQ+ community.
